About Timeshares

A timeshare is the common name for a vacation condo in which the deed has been split and sold, usually in 1 week portions. Timeshare condos are far superior to standard hotel rooms, with much more space, separate private bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilities. Also timeshare condos are part of large resorts with beautiful grounds and many amenities for owners to enjoy.

Each owner pays for their deed and also an annual maintenance fee for the upkeep of common areas. Owners are usually assigned a week per year to enjoy their timeshare vacation. Some timeshare resorts assign fixed weeks to their owners, meaning the owner visits the resort during the same time every year. Other resorts assign floating weeks, points or seasons to their owners, meaning their vacation time can be flexible.

Travel with Timeshare Exchanges

Timeshare properties are located all around the world. Many are located in sunny destinations such as Florida, Mexico and Hawaii but ski and golfing locations are also popular.

Your timeshare week can also be exchanged for other timeshare properties across the country and around the world by using an exchange company such as RCI or Interval International. You simply pay a small membership fee and deposit your week with the exchange company, then you can browse their extensive collection of other timeshare weeks and make a reservation.
