Although there have been signs that expenditures on traditional weddings have been falling, destination wedding budgets appear to have increased.
The survey conducted by Destination Weddings & Honeymoons magazine among its readers has revealed a positive growth for these specialized markets.
In particular, it found that destination wedding budgets increased 4 percent from $19,800 in 2006 to $20,600 in 2009, and couples who choose that option have an average honeymoon budget of $8,200, or 34 percent greater than that of traditional wedding couples.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association, the recreational boating industry trade group, predicts more Americans will go boating this summer if gas prices remain low. It says last year an estimated 70 million people participated in the popular water sport.
