Visitors flock to Gulf Coast for wine festival

Last weekend, the Sandestin Wine Festival on Florida's Gulf Coast attracted hundreds of visitors and wine lovers to an event filled with tasting and relaxation.

The event was held at a gold and beach resort in the village of Baytowne Wharf.

It featured more than 600 domestic and international varietals of wine. Representatives from 80 vineyards from around the world were also on hand, offering an opportunity to learn about wines from major producing countries in all varieties, styles and price ranges.

The Florida Panhandle is an attractive destination with traditional travelers and timeshare owners.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy sugar white sand beaches along the Gulf Cost, play golf, tennis or participate in water sports or dolphin watching.

There are also scenic biking and hiking trails in the Apalachicola National Forest as well as aerial and boating trips opportunities.

The regions known as the Emerald Coast has long been popular as a wedding and honeymoon destination as well, offering beach wedding against the backdrop of lush tropical gardens.
